It’s a big day for celebration here at Dyn as we officially unify DynDNS.com and Dyn.com!
You’ll notice some major changes in the design and content of the site as we’ve worked hard to make it even easier to learn about what we offer and how our products will be the solution that you’re looking for.
We’ve also been careful about retaining the DynDNS user experience: Sign In and Cart are still in the top right, while the Checkout process and account management still live on DynDNS.com. However, you’ll find that some old DynDNS pages are now being redirected to their new siblings on Dyn.com.
As always, these kinds of redesigns are iterative processes and you’ll see more changes coming in the future as we learn what works for you and what doesn’t. There’s lots more in the cards for the Dyn sites, but here’s what’s gone live today:
Better Product Detail
Product information used to live on DynDNS.com but it now lives alongside all of our other educational and support pages on Dyn.com. We’ve rewritten our product descriptions and lists of features so it’s more easy to compare our suite of services. We also finally put our consumer products alongside our enterprise products as we want it to be easy for you to pick what works for you at home, as well as what might work for your company.
We also organized our product lines into our two main offerings: Managed DNS and Email Delivery. Internet Guide now resides under Labs: our new place for emerging technologies and really awesome things that our customers and partners are doing with our products. It’ll continue to grow in the coming weeks.
More Intuitive Support Articles
We’ve completely rewritten the support section from scratch. The Concierge team examined what questions they most often get and wrote new How-To’s on solving common problems. The Dyn Wizard — our main troubleshooting tool — has been improved for ease of use and clarity of content. You’ll notice that a few support tools still reside on DynDNS and in time, they’ll also be improved and migrated to Dyn.com next.
Cleaned-up Content and Design
We also updated the design of both sites to better represent our brand — a great opportunity to create a style guide for all our sites. It was no easy task merging two sites into one and there still is more work ahead, but we’re thrilled to launch a better user experience for you.
In the coming months, we’ll be improving the checkout process and account management interfaces, which will eventually also live on Dyn.com. As always, we’ll be focused on performance and usability of the sites. We’ll be making small changes around the site as watch new cowpaths being formed and we’ll definitely be listening to your feedback.
Enjoy the new Dyn.com!
