New MailHop DNSBL: Spamhaus PBL

We have added a new DNS Black List, called Spamhaus Policy Block List (PBL). This blacklist is another tool MailHop users have to reduce spam. Taken from the Spamhaus page:

The Spamhaus PBL is a DNSBL database of end-user IP address ranges which should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to any Internet mail server except those provided for specifically by an ISP for that customer’s use. The PBL helps networks enforce their Acceptable Use Policy for dynamic and non-MTA customer IP ranges.

Considering that network operators are the ones who elect to both provide ranges to block but recognizing that some ISPs may be overzealous to prevent their users from sending mail, we have categorized this blacklist as medium risk.

As with our other DNS blacklists we offer, they are added and choosen based on user input. Want to see a blacklist we do not offer? Leave a comment here and let us know. Here is a list of currently supported DNSBLs.

If you have MailHop and want to start using this list, head over to your DNSBL settings to start managing your blacklist.
