Gunning For The Pound-For-Pound Managed DNS Title In 2011

From 1998 through 2008, our company slowly and methodically built up a stable and focused Internet Infrastructure company focused on the outsourced DNS space. You’ve heard our story before. We started with a consumer user base, first as a free service then moving to donation-based, then moving into a paid subscription model (hello SMBs) and then climbing into the Web Enterprise ring.

We fought like hell at every level. We took our hits along the way and sometimes swung with our eyes closed, but we continued to learn and grow, continued to win and continued to prepare for the position we are in today.

Like Manny Pacquaio, we’re here and ready to start winning titles and staking our claim as the best pound-for-pound DNS company in the world.

2009

We fully committed to our Managed DNS Platform for the enterprise space. We started nipping at the heels of our much bigger and more established competition and were like those irritating NYC bed bugs! We dove on the scene as the scrappy upstart with something to prove and embraced it. We poked the beehive over and over again, just to see if we’d get stung.

Our consumer service suite was our financing, essentially our internal VC or angel investor. We became a strength-based organization and tapped into the deep potential of our workforce. Having limited budgets keeps you nimble, smart and creative and we became one of those enigmatic “keep an eye on them” operations.

2010

We started to really gain market share and focused on building awareness of the industry, still embracing that annoying kid brother attitude, but with more legitimate confidence, more true credibility and more “take the high road” class. “Kill ’em with kindness” became our approach to the overall competitive landscape. Stay the course, be as human, real and accessible as possible. Be honest, passionate and persistent. It’s the only way. We must earn respect and trust before we can truly acquire the accounts we want and need to truly compete at the highest level. Respect your foes above and behind as you never know who might start biting our ankles. Always compete upwards for great clients and enjoy the chase.

The Year Ahead

Preparing to move into 2011 has been much different. We’ve matured, we’ve scaled our talent and infrastructure, we’ve built out a financial war chest to stand in the ring with the biggest of heavyweights and can go all 12 rounds if need be. A good Dyn corollary would be that of Pacquiao, the Filipino fighter who continues to win championships at every professional boxing weight class: eight of them to be exact. Heck, he’s also a Congressman in his native land. The guy has brought relevancy to a sport that was being left behind and forgotten. We believe we’re doing the same for our craft.
