Geek Week 2009 – Sept. 14-18

From the very, very beginning, way back in 1998, Dyn has been geek powered. At first it was donated hardware and time. Today it’s a cutting edge network, an engaged group of users and customers and a passionate staff. This year, we’re going to celebrate our roots with Geek Week 2009. Geek Week is a week of events designed to allow Dyn employees and the Dyn community to have a little fun and celebrate the geek power that keeps us at our technology’s cutting edge.

Geek Week ’09 kicks off on Monday and we’ve got a great schedule lined up. As part of Geek Week ’09, we’ll be running five “Geek 101” sessions encouraging employees to give a presentation at a session or write a 250 word blog. The prompt for the blogs and the sessions is: “I am a geek about _________ because …” Sessions will run Monday, September 14th through Friday, September 18th. Each day, dessert will be provided. Everyone that writes a blog article or gives a presentation will get a $30 gift certificate to ThinkGeek.com. We hope employees will use it to pick out an office gadget for their cubicle or around the office. On Friday, we’ll select the ‘Biggest Geek’ from among those that participate. The Biggest Geek will get a $100 gift certificate to ThinkGeek.com!

Come share in a DynTini, Dyn’s networking event that has been a hit from Vegas to NYC. We hope that you will join us on Wednesday, September 16th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm here at our Manchester, NH headquarters. Visit http://bit.ly/MM5TS to RSVP and for more details. http://dyntini.com

Another way, we’d like to get everyone involved in our contest is by encouraging users/clients to share with us why they think they are the ‘Biggest Geek’ (collected via blog, email, and/or tweet.) One lucky customer will also be given a $100 gift certificate to http://ThinkGeek.com. Check out what Dyn employees are “geeking” out on and show us what you got. Don’t be shy! Email Emily Burns at eburns@dyn.com to get involved.
