Dyn recently had the opportunity to chat with Christian Renaud, a Senior Analyst within 451 Research’s Enterprise Networking Practice, who covers the evolution of converged networks in this increasingly cloud-driven, mobile, and software-defined industry. Christian recently published an Impact Report on Dyn’s capabilities and how we fit into the market, so we wanted to share some of the highlights of his report.
It was great to see another perspective on what we do. According to Renaud, our enterprise-managed DNS services, geographically-distributed datacenters, and value-added analytics place us in a key position in the growing cloud-delivered network services market. 451 sees us as a natural complement to cloud-based Layer 4-7 services from other vendors, and a natural partner given the maturity and ubiquity of our traffic management platform.
451 sees exceptional value from Dyn in multiple markets, including APM, DDoS protection, and Internet Performance monitoring. Our growth over the last decade from providing reliable DNS services to consumers and enterprises to incorporating Internet Performance and connectivity metrics for a form of performance-based routing has allowed us to bolster our technology and talent, delivering a complete Internet Performance solution.
Renaud noted that there is competition in our space with companies like Akamai; however, he concluded by saying that the growth of cloud-deployed network services creates a steady stream of new potential partners for Dyn.
