Better Together: A Continuum Of DNS & Email For One and All

Introducing DynECT Email Delivery Lite, Available Now.

As a company that has spent the last ten years slowly climbing up market from consumer users to startups, small businesses and now enterprises, we’ve had to constantly adjust to ensure we have a solution for everyone. It’s been quite a journey that has produced our story, one that a couple employees even thought deserved its own song, ‘The Legend of Dyn.”

Today, we’re stoked to announce that the continuum of DNS and email is complete with the release of DynECT Email Delivery Lite. Here’s how it evolved and why DNS/email are truly better together.

Back in August 2010, we launched a new service called Dynect SMB (now called DynECT Managed DNS Lite) and boasted that it might prove to be the best move we ever made. (Read the blog I wrote that outlines the behind the scenes decision making process and why we were so excited about it.)

After nearly a year running the new service tier, it has proven to be a great bridge between our Dyn Standard DNS offering and our full-fledged DynECT Managed DNS platform for high-traffic and feature seeking enterprise clients. The beauty of both Dyn Standard DNS and DynECT Managed DNS Lite is that you can simply signup online through an easy e-commerce experience. We think it’s great because it creates a nice upgrade path to stick within the entire Dyn family of DNS services from startup idea through rock star success.

After enjoying that win, we knew we needed to do the same with email.

When we acquired email provider SendLabs to close out 2010, we did so for two main reasons:

  • Because of our Dyn Standard SMTP solution and email suite that was in operation since 2004, a suite that has thousands of paying customers and an existing and healthy revenue stream. Like all clients, they wanted and demanded maturation in the product and more, more, more.
  • Because we firmly believed we needed a strong complimentary enterprise class tech to sit alongside our fast growth DynECT Managed DNS platform.

Some competitors are gambling on performance monitoring (we partnered with Catchpoint) while others are hedging their bets on DDoS mitigation (we’ve got our plan locked here, so stay tuned!). But in typical Dyn fashion, we decided to blaze a trail, stick to our roots and push our chips into the middle of the table with email.

We officially rolled out our new outbound email deliverability offering — DynECT Email Delivery — over the past few months and this week launched a similar ‘Lite’ version, giving all of our various DNS customers, email customers and prospects options to enjoy better deliverability with a system that is right for them.

Go ahead, we dare you to sign up online today for DynECT Email Delivery Lite. You can upgrade from Dyn Standard SMTP and someday, you can even move to the full-fledged DynECT Email Delivery platform.

A continuum for DNS & Email from Dyn is now complete. Grow with us and harden your infrastructure.
