Tom Daly is the President and Chief Technology Officer at Dyn Inc. where he is responsible for the architecture, development, and operations of the company’s advanced DNS platforms. From the vision of a product, to its design, and implementation, Tom ensures that nothing but the best is released to our demanding customer base. He is responsible for managing the expansion of the company’s footprint of global data centers, and to ensure that we keep our creedo of “Uptime at All Times.” Tom is also a member of Dyn Inc’s Board of Directors.
Tom spends his days studying and analyzing the Internet at large, to understand how to best architect Dyn Inc’s advanced anycast DNS network. He is well-versed with the internals of BGP routing, DNS, and BIND (our name server software of choice). Tom has a knack for explaining how networking technology works, and why you should (or shouldn’t) use a particular technology. Tom has a BS in electrical and computer engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and has been working in the field for over ten years.
As a member of Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering advisory board, Tom advises the department on curriculum and other development projects. He serves on the board of the New Hampshire High Technology Council as a director and steering committee member for the Speed Venture Summit, an annual event designed to match investors and entrepreneur together. As a member of the NANOG Program Committee, Tom helps to organize three annual meetings, and speaks frequently at industry events, including FCC briefings. Tom was recognized by the United States Small Business Administration as the 2008 Young Entrepreneur of the Year for New Hampshire, alongside his business partner, Jeremy Hitchcock.
