This is an updated set of directions for Google Apps. You can see the current article at Configuring Your MX Records: DynDNS

  1. Log in to your account at DynDNS.com.
  2. Click My Services below your username.
  3. Under Zone Level Services, Click Custom DNS Service next to the domain you
will be using with Google Apps.
  4. Click the Edit MX List Button.
  5. Enter these two hostnames for Mail Exchangers:

    ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
    ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

  6. Click Save Mail Exchangers and you are done!

Yay. I’m done… except for the fact that after I click Save Mail Exchangers I see the following on the zone page:

    Mail Exchangers: Not configured
(host addresses will be used for mail delivery)

It’d be really cool if somewhere you let people know that MX records cannot be entered UNTIL the zone is live.

I was entering these things thinking that they’d queue up and go live once the zone is active. Nothing beats feeling around in the dark.
