When Noah Everett, founder of Twitpic, came to Manchester to speak at the abi Innovation Hub Party at Arms, I couldn’t resist sitting down with him and picking his brain. At only 27-years-old, Everett is one of the most well known tech leaders around with more than four million Twitter followers. That’s not bad for someone who started his company over the weekend.
“Twitpic was an idea I had in a weekend,” Everett said. “I then built it and launched it. I got some blog coverage and it started a snowball effect. I was still working a full time job for the first year and doing Twitpic on the nights and weekends. Finally, it grew to a point where I had to do it full time.”
We also talk about Twitpic’s role in some of the biggest events in the world, how ending up in the back of a police car was a career defining moment, what it’s like working with his parents and how to create a startup ecosystem in your city.
