New release gives customers a current picture of the world’s Internet networks
Manchester, NH (July 16, 2014) – Dyn, the worldwide leader in Internet performance, today announced the release of IP Transit Intelligence. Dyn’s IP Transit Intelligence, the first in a new line of Performance Assurance products, delivers the world’s most complete, accurate, objective and up-to-date view of network and service provider connectivity.
As companies expand globally, they require an up-to-date and complete view of network rankings and peering relationships. Dyn’s IP Transit Intelligence inventories every service provider and all of their globally visible connectivity relationships with other service providers and enterprises, in every critical market, giving companies the actionable insight they need to maximize Internet performance to their customers. Dyn’s global directory of Internet affiliations helps global businesses and network service providers make well-informed data center location and Internet peering and transit decisions.
“Today’s global businesses need immediate, accurate information about Internet connectivity to give their customers and other site visitors the best experience possible,” said Scott Hilton, EVP of Product, Dyn. “IP Transit Intelligence provides an unparalleled worldview of the inner workings of the Internet, which allows our users to make critical calls about the best ways to connect their assets using up-to-date information and knowledge.”
IP Transit Intelligence is the first release in a new line of Performance Assurance products enabled by Dyn’s recent acquisition of Renesys, the authority on Internet intelligence and the data source for the respected Baker’s Dozen annual analysis of top Internet providers. Dyn’s Performance Assurance products are already being used by half of the 10 most trafficked websites in the world, as ranked by Alexa. Data is collected from a extensive global sensor network, which allows the creation of a catalog of IP transit and peering relationships for both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
“We have been very happy with the products and support we have received from Renesys in the past, and we are looking forward to the enhancements that the combination of Dyn and Renesys will bring,” commented Michael Wheeler, Executive Vice President, NTT America. “The expertise and context that Dyn and Renesys possess enables the creation of excellent products like IP Transit Intelligence.”
In addition to the world’s largest enterprises, network service providers gain visibility into competitors, prospects and emerging markets, and have the insights and intelligence they need to understand the competitive marketplace, incorporate tactical intelligence about ISP customer lists, contract renewal dates and observed service instability. Finally, IP Transit Intelligence helps users plan for data center expansion through a global perspective of network service providers and partnerships, with simple views and reports.
Additional IP Transit Intelligence features include:
- Access to current and historical data: Daily updates on the latest network registrations and changes in the global Internet, as well as historical views with insight into trends and expansions. Provides a picture of the top providers, allowing organizations to plan for today’s IPv4 Internet, with additional insight into the fast-evolving IPv6 Internet.
- Customizable reports and summaries: A customizable, browser-based user interface provides summary snapshots and detailed listings of peering relationships; service provider rankings, demographics, and trends; new ASN (Autonomous System Number) registrations; and the latest interconnection news and events.
Daily summaries: Daily snapshots and written summaries for the target markets, providers and ASNs provide a personalized view for customers, with the ability to move right into detailed analysis.
“Dyn clearly sees performance assurance as a solution that will have considerable appeal for web-scale players, cloud service providers, and for larger enterprises adopting private cloud,” said Elisabeth Rainge, research vice president of IDC’s Communications Service Provider Operations research program. “Dyn’s investment in Renesys is an example of the need for end-to-end visibility to serve today’s digital enterprises.”
