TechCrunch & TC Cribs: We Want You!
With 6000 square feet of expansion awesomeness set to open in the next few days, it’s time to officially invite one of the most popular tech news websites in the world here to visit as part of their ongoing TC Cribs series.
They’ve visited clients, partners and friends of ours like Etsy, Yelp, Tumblr, LAL and Meebo. But with a startup community that is truly taking shape here in the northeastern United States, we want to extend our e-hand out to TechCrunch to officially visit the Dyn world headquarters in Manchester, NH, and see what our region has to offer.
And since we realize that the written word is sometimes easy to pass over, we made a video for you as part of the cause.

Gray & Joe’s Excellent San Francisco Adventure
“It started out weird and then, it got crazy.”
That was the quote from Dyn COO Gray Chynoweth following his three day trip to San Francisco this week, accompanied by VP of Finance Joe Raczka. A trip that was built around business was mixed with a lot of pleasure involving a Valentine’s Day dinner, Patron shots, a Mercedes Benz, a house of hackers and a multiple time Super Bowl MVP.
A tale best set for a Ben Mezrich book? Decide for yourself.

ValenDyn’s Day: Our 24-Hour Dinner With Dyn Contest
Duty calls at Dyn and sometimes, we get called away to work on holidays. It’s tough being the Internet Infrastructure-as-a-Service leader but that’s what you have to do to stay ahead.
In case you haven’t heard, Tuesday is Valentine’s Day, a day that is devoted to everything that is love. Two of our best and brightest — Dyn COO Gray Chynoweth and VP of Finance Joe Raczka — have to be in San Francisco for meetings and be away from their wives. While a romantic trip on a trolley may sound great to some, the two really want to spend it with other people…which is where you come in.
We’re holding a 24-hour contest from 12 pm EST on Monday, February 13th to 12 pm EST on February 14th for our DynECT Managed DNS / Email clients. Two lucky winners and their significant others will join Gray and Joe at COCO500, a fun & hip restaurant in San Francisco’s SOMA area.
All you have to do is tell us why you should be picked.

Infographic: Dyn 2011 Year In Review
If you read Kyle York’s post from last week, you know Dyn had a killer 2011 and a lot of momentum heading into 2012 thanks to a lot of great customers, partners, employees and friends. To help support Kyle’s thoughts, our talented Julie Parenteau put our awesome 2011 year in review into infographic form.
A quick overview: we moved into a new office space and opened two new locations, enhanced several of our global Points Of Presence (PoP), nearly doubled in staff size, signed on a slew of new clients, won some awards and a lot more. Managed DNS and Email Delivery are here to stay and it’s thanks to everyone we mentioned above.
See the graphic after the jump and click to enlarge. Here’s to a better, faster, stronger 2012!

Celebrating Being FITN With Newt Gingrich, Cory Booker Visits
When I first moved here in 2001, I quickly learned about one of the unique aspects of living in New Hampshire: Granite Staters love their politics. Maybe it’s because of the First In The Nation (#FITN) primaries or giving us something to discuss during the winter months when it’s cold or the summer when the Red Sox frustrate us, but politics go hand-in-hand with NH like uptime and Dyn.
That’s one of the reasons we’re excited our new offices in Manchester have become a destination point for some of the most well-known names on the political scene to visit when they spend time in the Queen City. As one of the leading technology companies in the 03101-03109 (and NH in general), we want them to see what a small startup is capable of: job growth, company culture, civic pride and a cornerstone for what we think will be a technology haven in upcoming years.
On Friday, we had Newark, NJ, Mayor Cory Booker in the house and on Monday, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will come by for a unique session open to the public.

Holiday Email Marketing: When Deliverability Matters Most
You’ve constructed the perfect holiday email campaign. Your team has worked all summer on strategy, copy reviews, creative, list segmentation and more. Email is a major driver of business for your company and this is promising to be your biggest holiday season ever.
The big day for your first email has arrived and it all comes down to hitting ‘Send’. You click that magical button and sit back, looking forward to a great day of ecommerce sales and cha-ching all day long. But after an hour, your open rates are dreadfully low. No one is clicking through. You give it a few hours. Still extremely low. What is going on? You sweat, you panic and then, you come to that realization that marketers dread….
…you picked the wrong email delivery company and now your revenue is paying the price at the worst possible time.

Geek Week 2011: Celebrating Our Inner Geek
When I started here in January, I kept hearing about Geek Week. There was a sign featuring a unique logo in our old game room and pics were floating around of fellow Dyners dressed up as pirates, random Star Wars cookies and such. I kept thinking, “What is this? Will it happen again?”
Earlier this summer, I was stoked to hear that Geek Week would return and as I type this, we are in the middle of our 3rd annual celebration of our inner geek.
What exactly does that mean? Cold pizza, Donkey Kong tournaments, board games, a big DynTini and a general great feeling at 150 Dow Street.
Welcome to Geek Week ’11!

The Thought Leader Council: Dyn’s IaaS Justice League
If you’re a comics fan, you’re familiar with the Justice League, a group of powerful superheroes that come together for a simple cause: keeping the world safe through the elimination of evil.
In Dyn’s case, the “evil” is website downtime and undelivered email. While there’s not a Mr. Undeliverable or Downtime Monster to battle in the metropolis of Manchester, we have our own panel of experts helping guide us toward our simple cause: Internet Infrastructure excellence.
This week, the Thought Leader Council will converge upon the 603 to meet, discuss, lead and enjoy our open house party. But who is this mysterious group? What do they represent? Who is helping our leadership think bigger and brighter things?
Allow me to introduce our version of the Justice League: The Thought Leader Council.

What You Should Know About Gmail’s New Anti-Phishing Check
The good people at Google are always making updates and changes to their products, keeping everyone from tech geeks to Mom on their toes when it comes to user experience.
Their Gmail offering is no different and in the past few days, users may have noticed a new snippet of information next to the sender’s name/address designed to give the recipient more insight into who is sending the email that is making it into their inboxes.
This anti-phishing measure is a nice nod toward better insight into email delivery and here’s what you should know about it — especially if you’re delivering email through Dyn.
