Dyn’s Culture-Con Brings Business Community Together

Manchester, NH – February 1, 2012 - It seems like everyone derived some benefit from Dyn’s first-ever Culture-Con — even the keynote speaker.

“I got so many great ideas,” said Donavon Roberson, Director of Service Innovations at OOBE and formerly Culture Evangelist at Zappos.

More than 50 people crowded Dyn’s world headquarters at 150 Dow Street in Manchester’s historic mill district on Tuesday to participate in the event, which also featured a panel of local businesses talking about their own company cultures.

Roberson discussed the importance of creating a workplace that brings out the best in employees. He learned these lessons from Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh and is fine tuning them at South Carolina-based OOBE.

Gray Chynoweth - Dyn

Dyn VP Gray Chynoweth Voted ICANN RrSG Chair

We love ICANN and have enjoyed being part of this organization for years. Our VP/General Counsel Gray Chynoweth has been a fixture at events, taking his trusty HD flip camera and doing interviews with some of the industry’s biggest movers and shakers. If CNBC needs a new anchor, they got one.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that Gray has been voted Executive Committee Chair of ICANN’s Registrar Stakeholder Group (RrSG).  Gray fills the role after Mason Cole vacated the position to represent the RrSG on ICANN’s Generic Name Supporting Organization Council.  The position runs until May of 2012.

Steve Jobs 1955-2011: Our Employees Pay Tribute

After David DePiano’s stirring tribute Thursday to the late Steve Jobs, I put out the feelers to our entire company to see if other people wanted to share their thoughts. Social media channels exploded around the world when news broke, so surely there were others here who wanted to share their feelings.

We got a variety of responses — some written, some visual — that help illustrate what the former Apple CEO’s legacy has meant here. CTO Tom Daly was even featured on the local news about his thoughts.

As we head into the weekend, enjoy what our Dyners have to say about the passing of Steve Jobs at age 56.
